Mellieha - my village

Hello, my name is Katryna and I live in Mellieha, a village in Malta. Mellieha is my home town as I have lived there all my life (12 years) . It is quite a small and clean village. There is a lot of energy and activity as there is always something to do.

An open air skate ramp and an outdoor gym have  been recently built! I think I prefer using the skate ramp to the gym as I hate exercising  in public. You can see a lot of nice houses and beautiful sites such as the Red Tower. I love the morning smell of bread since I live near a bakery. I hate all the noise pollution as there is always someone shouting or a dog barking early in the morning but the worst thing is my neighbour who organizes frequent parties which continue till one o'clock in the  morning. Loud noise is all one hears till the early hours of the morning.

Living in the north has its own advantages as it is higher up so my roads do not flood when there is heavy rain. It is also close to the beautiful sandy beaches we have in Malta.

As you can see life in Mellieha is not so bad!! I really like the place. That is all for today. I hope you enjoyed  my article.

My village - Mtarfa

Hello!! I live in Mtarfa and that’s what I am going to write about in this article. I moved to Mtarfa five years ago. I have never been so fond of a village as I am of Mtarfa. When I moved in, I knew my life would be much quieter. Mtarfa is a quiet and clean village where you can find all the amenities you will need. Most of the amenities are found in the town centre.

Near the town centre is the clock tower. The clock tower, along with some shelters of World War I and World War II and the old hospital, which is now a school, are all opened and exhibited to the public in the once-a-year festival, Military Mtarfa”. During this festival, the town square would be flooded with people and stalls.

Most of Marfa’s buildings were built by the British in the early twentieth century. The coat of arms of Mtarfa is a hill with a castle on top of it. The park of Mtarfa is a work-in-progress but construction had to stop as some British wells were found.

I love living in Mtarfa as it is clean, quite small, and it has everything you need in it. I recommend this village as it is a lovely place.

Bye
Lizzie

My village

Hi all! Today I am writing about my village. Well, first I think that you should know that I live in Xgħajra, which is a village found near Żabbar and Kalkara.

As you might know, Xgħajra is situated in the south of Malta. It is a small village near the sea and not many cars pass from the streets. In the centre of the village one can find the church. It is quite small as not many people live in Xgħajra.

Even though I have lived in Xgħajra all my life, I don’t enjoy everything here. One of these things is that I don’t know children my age as they attend a different school. Another thing is that our neighbours are very noisy. I also don’t like the fact that not many people know where Xgħajra is. Has that ever happened to you in your town?

Now, let me tell you what I like about Xghajra. Xghajra is small and it is easy to move around. I also like the fact that it is close to the sea and we can walk to the beach.

I hope that you have enjoyed Xghajra and don’t forget to write back on page 12.

Dear Laura,
How are you? Long time no seen. It was very nice of you to send me a letter last Friday. I thank you for your thoughts.

Hey, do you remember Maia? She is no longer coming to our school. My I cried when I heard the news. She was my best friend. We never used to leave each other’s back and we used to meet each other almost once every month at the weekends.  You do not need to know Maia’s character to be her friend. By looking at her you would already know that she has the largest and kindest heart anyone could ever have.

Her dark brown eyes glow like midnight stars and that flowing black hair flows in the morning breeze. What about those red lips which comfort with all her kind words? Without her, I just feel lost, like I am someone without a friend, without a home, without anyone to care for me. But when I am with her I feel happy, so excited, just so full with good thoughts.

Now you know how important Maia is for me. Our friendship is not normal. It is not as common as all other friendships. It is bigger and it really means a lot to me.   You really do not have an idea how miserable I am going to feel without her!

Lots of love

                                                                                                                 Sarah

Dear Sarah,
How are you?  It has been a long time since we last spoke. I would like to tell you about an important person in my life. The person I will be writing about is my mother whose name is Joanne.
She has light brown curly hair. She is short and full of energy. Joanne also has beautiful dark brown eyes. She loves shopping and likes following fashion. Her hobbies are collecting stamps from all over the world and reading. She likes cooking all sorts of food such as pasta, pizza and traditional Maltese food. Her favourite colour is purple. We share the same birthday.  Joanna was born is Australia.
My mother is my best friend because we do a lot of things together such as shopping, swimming and long walks in the countryside.  She is important to me because she takes care of me and she is always there to lend me a hand, especially when I need an opinion.  She buys me everything that I need, such as clothes.
Joanna has a heart of gold and although we fight sometimes we always make up in the end.  I love her dearly and I cannot wait to go home after school to tell her all about my day.  All I can say is that she is the best mother in the whole world!!
That is all for today.  I hope you enjoyed reading about my mother.

                                                                                                                                                                  Your best friend
