My Town-Attard

Hi readers! How are you? Hope you are all well. Welcome to another edition of ‘Pop Magazine’. Today, I am going to talk to you about my home town.

I live in a town called Attard, which is found in the centre of Malta. I have been living there for all my life. Attard has become a busy and noisy town, because it is overcrowded and more buildings are being built. On the other hand, in Attard you can still find a lot of old and traditional buildings, like houses and churches.

In the morning Attard would be filled with traffic. You can smell the diesel and hear the cars honking. You can find different kinds of shops, parks, restaurants and hotels too. In Attard there are a lot of activities organized annually. These are the fruit feasts, music feasts and many more. I like living in Attard because you can find a clean and modern environment. However, I don’t like the place because of the heavy traffic. I prefer quiet places.

Well, that’s all for today, about my hometown, Attard. I hope you enjoyed reading it. What is your village like? See you next time in my article, on ‘Pop Magazine’.

My Town-Rabat

I have always lived in my home town Rabat. It is a commercial centre a stroll away from the mediaeval town of Mdina

Rabat is rich in historical places, some of which are St. Agatha’s Catacombs and St. Paul’s Parish Church; a sixteenth century church built over a cave which according to tradition, St. Paul took shelter in around 59 AD.

In Rabat’s centre one can find lots of boutiques, shoe shops, accessories shops, bars, restaurants and even clubs. Distributed all over the town one can find a large number of beautiful well-kept chapels and churches. On the outskirts there is a well-preserved large Roman town house called Domus Romana. Near it there is a large beautiful public garden which visitors and locals visit in large numbers everyday.

Rabat is surrounded by countryside such as Buskett gardens and Dingli Cliffs. The people are friendly and helpful. Personally I love living here. Although it is a commercial place, I live in a quiet, modern part of Rabat. From our roof we can see St. Dominic’s Church, Verdala Palace, the town itself and its outskirts.

Our neighbours are friendly and as we are only twenty-three houses in our street, we are like a little community. I wouldn’t change this place with another.

The Best Place in Town-Msida

I have always lived in Msida, in the area of St.Venera, near St.Philips Hospital. I love this area because it is very central.

In Msida one can find several things. We have a church, loads of shops, schools, hospitals and my drama school, M.Space. Living in this area is very convenient although we have our drawbacks as we experience traffic jams. It is more worthwhile walking around than using the car as the area is very busy.

Although pollution is a big issue, from my balcony I can see a farm. This farm has sheep, horses, chickens, and donkeys which I spend hours looking at. Sometimes I have the opportunity to go and visit the farm. I really enjoy it there! In the farm there is a horse called Harry. It is grey and white. When I am on the farm I enjoy going next to it.

We have different smells in this area, from pollution and exhaust to manure. It is quite noisy with traffic and ambulances are always passing by.

I like my town because it is big and nice. There are nice views and I have sweet neighbours. I hope you liked my article because I wanted you to enjoy reading it and have fun.

An article about my town-Mosta

Mosta church

Hey guys! You probably already know that I live in Mosta. So I think it is appropriate for me to tell you more about Mosta.

Mosta is found in the centre of Malta. It has a population of about 19,000 people. The main attraction in Mosta is the “Rotunda” (the big church whose dome is actually the third largest in the world!!). It is dedicated to the Assumption whose feast is held on the fifteenth of August (which is a public holiday in Malta). This church was almost destroyed by a bomb, which luckily failed to explode during “World War II”. Many tourists visit it every day.

Mosta has many other attractions like the “Speranza Chapel”. This chapel carries a legend about a young girl who was going to be abducted by pirates. There is also the “Cumbo Tower” which was a stronghold of Mosta in the past. Last but not least there is the beautiful valley of “Wied il Ghasel”.

I have lived in Mosta since I was born and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I have many friends who live here and since Mosta is very popular with shops, it is easy for us to go for a shopping spree! Mosta is very important to me and I love my town!

Mellieha - my village

Hello, my name is Katryna and I live in Mellieha, a village in Malta. Mellieha is my home town as I have lived there all my life (12 years) . It is quite a small and clean village. There is a lot of energy and activity as there is always something to do.

An open air skate ramp and an outdoor gym have  been recently built! I think I prefer using the skate ramp to the gym as I hate exercising  in public. You can see a lot of nice houses and beautiful sites such as the Red Tower. I love the morning smell of bread since I live near a bakery. I hate all the noise pollution as there is always someone shouting or a dog barking early in the morning but the worst thing is my neighbour who organizes frequent parties which continue till one o'clock in the  morning. Loud noise is all one hears till the early hours of the morning.

Living in the north has its own advantages as it is higher up so my roads do not flood when there is heavy rain. It is also close to the beautiful sandy beaches we have in Malta.

As you can see life in Mellieha is not so bad!! I really like the place. That is all for today. I hope you enjoyed  my article.
