Mosta church |
Hey guys! You probably
already know that I live in Mosta. So I think it is appropriate for me to tell
you more about Mosta.
Mosta is found in the
centre of Malta. It has a population of about 19,000 people. The main
attraction in Mosta is the “Rotunda” (the big church whose dome is actually the
third largest in the world!!). It is dedicated to the Assumption whose feast is
held on the fifteenth of August (which is a public holiday in Malta). This
church was almost destroyed by a bomb, which luckily failed to explode during
“World War II”. Many tourists visit it every day.
Mosta has many other
attractions like the “Speranza Chapel”. This chapel carries a legend about a
young girl who was going to be abducted by pirates. There is also the “Cumbo
Tower” which was a stronghold of Mosta in the past. Last but not least there is the
beautiful valley of “Wied il Ghasel”.
I have lived in Mosta
since I was born and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I have many friends
who live here and since Mosta is very popular with shops, it is easy for us to
go for a shopping spree! Mosta is very important to me and I love my town!
