Dear Maria,

Hi, how are you? I’m fine and I hope you are too. Today I’m writing to you about my friend Martina.

Martina is twelve years old. She is tall and slim and has beautiful brown eyes and hair. We usually meet every Friday at the Salesian Oratory in Sliema where we meet up with other friends to play volleyball or basketball. We also meet for Sunday mass and after, we go for a coffee or a walk together with our families. We both love to dance and in fact we normally take part in the musicals held at the oratory. Sometimes we go to each other’s houses to watch a film or play computer games.

As you can see Martina is a special person to me. In your next letter, I would like to hear about a special person in your life with whom you spend your free time. I am looking forward to hear from you.

Take care,
Mattea

My town-Mosta

I live in a town called Mosta. It is found in the centre of Malta. My parents built a house in Mosta over twenty years ago so I have lived in Mosta for my whole life.

I really like Mosta because it is very peaceful except in the places where there are busy roads. Our neighbours are very nice. However, there are a lot of bugs because I live in front of a field.

Sometimes I hear cars passing by and in the morning I hear birds singing. In the centre of Mosta I smell a lot of fumes from cars and in the morning I smell wet grass. I see a lot of shops from where to buy shoes, groceries and other important things people need.

Mosta is very big. In fact it is the second largest town in   Malta. There are lots of historical monuments and that’s why lots of tourists come to Mosta. There are also a lot of parks for young children. There are a lot of churches as well.

I like my town because several relatives live there. I would never change Mosta with  any other town in the world.
